Mother's Day

I spent my first Mother's Day working at the hospital. The manager of our Jewel Osco brought boxes of beautiful Iris corsages. It brought a tear to my eye as we handed them out to the patients and patient's wives. They were so appreciative, and even the sickest patients lit up with joy. My heart melted at the end of my shift when one of my patients gave me her flower because she knew it was my first Mother's Day, and she felt sad that I wasn't spending it with my family.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Now that I have joined the ranks, I am learning of the unconditional love, the hard work, the trials, but most of all the joys of being a mother.
